02/12/2022: Fox Consulting has been selected within an international multidisciplinary team for the renovation of the Palais de la Découverte in Paris

We are very proud and honored that Universcience selected our team, following a call for tenders, for the architectural and scenographic design of the renovated Palais de la Découverte in Paris, which will open its doors in 2025.

Experienced and strong in various projects, our team is interdisciplinary. The objective is to work in a real collective intelligence in order to meet the ambitions of this new scientific and cultural museum, whether with the teams of Universcience or all the other players in the renovation of the Grand Palais.

Our project takes place in the architectural composition of the Palais d'Antin, the west wing of the Grand Palais, which has housed the Palais de la Découverte since 1937. The Palais de la Découverte will regain, thanks to the restoration in progress, its original brilliance and architectural qualities.

In dialogue and in respect with the historic monument, our project is a scenographic landscape which voluntarily unfolds in delicacy and harmony, inspired by the building itself: a central circle or an ellipse within a larger rectilinear structure, and the interplay within these volumes. Spaces such as laboratories, open or semi-open disciplinary presentation for demonstrations with researchers or mediators, numerous educational tools, islands of curiosity, a living tropical greenhouse and self-guided experiences will be set up in this historic architecture.

26/10/2022: Fox Consulting has been accepted as member of AZA

We are happy to share with our colleagues, friends and current and future clients that Fox Consulting is now a Commercial Member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). The Fox Consulting's team is currently extending its activities in North America with several zoo design and master planning projects in progress.

22/04/2021: Public engagement survey for Assiniboine Park Zoo

Fox Consulting is currently leading an international team including Canadian and European partners which are assisting Assiniboine Park Conservancy defining the next 10-year master plan for Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg. This zoological institution is the only major zoological park in Manitoba and the oldest Canadian zoo still operating and opened for visitors at its original location since 1904.

Assiniboine Park Conservancy and our team have developped a public engagement survey which was launched a few days ago and has attracted already a lot of attention. We are looking forward to receiving the feedbacks and the inputs from the general public and all stakeholders involved in the future of Assiniboine Park Zoo. 22/07/2020: The public opening of Parrot World is fast approaching!

Fox Consulting has been supporting the Parrot World (www.parrotworld.fr) project since 2015 and has successfully carried out numerous missions including the zootechnical design of the animal facilities, construction monitoring, project networking and collaboration with breeding programmes, organization of the animal transports, etc.

This new zoological park, created by the Parrot Wildlife Foundation (PWLF), will open its doors to the public on August 15th in Crécy-la-Chapelle near Paris.

25/09/2018: Attendance at the EAZA Annual Conference in Athens

Fox Consulting was present at the 35th Annual Conference of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) that took place last week in Athens, Greece. We shared a booth with two partners: Horwath HTL and The Wild Immersion. We presented our services, but also some of the ongoing projects that we are currently supporting and assisting. It was again the opportunity to see and to meet many colleagues from multiple European zoos, but also to attend various workshops, sessions, conferences and presentations.

13/08/2017: Reconstruction of Kharkiv Zoo in Ukraine

The redevelopment and the reconstruction of Kharkiv Zoo in Ukraine are moving ahead! Fox Consulting has collaborated and participated in the design of several facilities for some iconic species, including chimpanzees and orangutans. The new exhibits for these animals have been developed in close consultation with the coordinators and members of the European breeding programs for these species as well as the EAZA Taxon Advisory Group for great apes.

Fox Consulting is now Corporate Member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA)!

05/04/2017: Zoo Design Conference in Wroclaw

Fox Consulting participated in the recent Zoo Design Conference in Poland in early April. Many participants from all over the world were present and enriched the many debates and discussions.

20/03/2017: Fox Consulting participated last week at the EAZA Zoo Educators (EZE) Conference

This conference was the opportunity for many exchanges about education within zoological institutions and modern tools for its optimal implementation.

27/01/2016: Release of the new movie « Les Saisons »

"Les Saisons" ("The Seasons"), directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, was released on January 27th, 2016. By following various forest animals this new film explains the main changes in term of habitats in Europe over the last 20,000 years. In 2012, Jonas Livet participated in the investigation, identification and location scouting of potential places (zoological and animal parks, nature reserves, etc.) for the filming of animal births.

15/09/2015: EAZA Annual Conference in Wrocław (Poland)

Jonas Livet will represent Fox Consulting at the forthcoming EAZA Annual Conference to be held in Wroclaw (Poland) from September 15th to 19th, 2015.

24/05/2015: Attendance of the 12th ICEE in China

Fox Consulting participated in the twelfth International Conference on Environmental Enrichment (ICEE) in Beijing, China from 24th to 28th May 2015. Organized under the umbrella of The Shape of Enrichment, the symposium took place for the first time in 1993 in Portland, Oregon, and since then was organized every two years in an international zoo. In 2015, the ICEE was held for the first time in China and in Asia!

Jonas Livet held a presentation about the zoos and their three user groups as well as the impact of these stakeholders on the design of environmental enrichment programs (Zoos and their three user groups: impacts on designing environmental enrichment programs).

Two posters produced by Fox Consulting were also shared at the conference: the first about elephant foot disorders and potential solutions through environmental enrichment (Elephant Foot Disorders (EFD): how to solve these issues through enrichment programs and rational management?) and the second about the inclusion of enrichment from the early design of an enclosure (Planning enrichment from the early stages of exhibit design: example of an exhibit for rhinoceros and tigers).

The ICEE at Beijing Zoo was a unique opportunity to meet many colleagues from Chinese zoos and to exchange about the development of these institutions. Congratulations again to the organizers of this event and to the numerous participants!
